Happy Birthday Carter

It doesn't seem like 9 years has already past since Carter first made his entrance into this world. He made sure to inform me that this would be his last year for single digits, just incase I hadn't already made that discovery. I don't know if that make me sad or just feel old.

We don't do the big birthday production anymore. A rule I came up with once the boys hit 6. Parties are just too much! So each year he gets to pick out how he wants to spend his day and invite a few friends to celebrate with us. This year he chose Medieval Times. He invited his friend Trent from school and his good friend McKinley. And since my sister Amy was in town with her kids, Katie and John joined us too.

Everything is Medieval, from the costumes, decorations to the food. You have to eat everything with your hands.

The kids really got into the act and cheered on our team, the Green Knight. "Green Knight Rules! Green Knight Rules!"

Since that was Saturday, and his actual birthday was Monday we had a small family celebration. Dinner at Snuffers (one of Carter's favorite places to eat) then back to the house for ice cream cake and some time on the trampoline.
